Located east of Borneo is the equatorial paradise of Sulawesi. Bunaken Marine Park in North Sulawesi ( Manado ) has approximately 3,000 different varieties of reef fish and large numbers of pelagics; including barracuda, sharks, whales, dolphins, giant manta rays and turtles that call the steep walls home. On the east coast of North Sulawesi lies the incomparable Lembeh Strait, a macro photographer's Paradise and Muck Divers heaven. Their motto is " If you can't find your macro critter here, it probably doesn't exist." For those wanting a real adventure to one of the most remote and untouched regions left in the world today, a journey to Central Sulawesi and the Togian Archipelago is a must. Central Sulawesi offers the spectacular diving at Walea, one of the islands in the secluded Togian Archipelago located between Borneo and the Moluccas, in the middle of the Sulawesi Sea. The island has volcanic origins and there is wonderful blue lagoon that surrounds the white sandy beaches. Against the background of the exuberant tropical forest is the enticing blue sea. The reef in Walea is absolutely uncontaminated as diving started here only a few years ago. The diving is spectacular combining the best of Big Fish life and pelagics with some of the largest concentrations of macro life to be found in Indonesia.
