Lankayan Island Dive ResortBorneoWhat is it like at Lankayan Island Dive Resort?  Despite its remoteness, Lankayan Island Dive Resort is proud to offer all the amenities of a full service tropical resort. Visitors stay in simple and elegant beachfront bungalows, made out of local wooden materials that blend into the natural surroundings. Each chalet is well appointed, with hot running water and private bathroom facilities. Power is available in both 220 V or 110 V.
 Meals at the resort are excellent. Fresh fruit and some of the most delicious seafood you've ever eaten is served informally in the central restaurant. Adjacent is a beautiful open-air wooden terrace which is the ideal spot for relaxing and chatting after dinner... all the while admiring the dozens of juvenile blacktip sharks swimming leisurely a few feet beneath.
After your day of diving, the place for relaxation is the upper lounge that overlooks the western beach and jetty. Here, the visitor can enjoy some sun with a favorite cool drink. A TV room is available for viewing the day's video shots or other footage, and a small over the counter shop offers film, batteries and toiletries.
Diving Details Lankayan Island is a true Macroworld paradise. For those more inclined towards the smaller denizens of the reefs, there are numerous juvenile fishes, clown anemone fishes, decorator and spider crabs, coral shrimps, nudibranchs, prawn gobies and such rarer subjects as jawfish, mandarine fish, ornate ghost pipefish and frogfish.
 Divers are sure to appreciate the remaining large stretches of unspoiled lettuce and staghorn and other hard corals, the many varieties of soft corals, feather stars, sponges and sea fans. Pelagics also abound here. Large schools of yellow tail barracudas, jacks, and large bumphead parrotfish are always exciting to encounter. Lankayan also boasts fascinating wrecks and in season from March to May, regular sightings of every divers dream, the elusive whale shark.
