Layang Layang Island Resort

Mabul Water Bungalows
I have just completed a very nice week at Mabul. I was there in March and it was just as nice - if not even a little bit better - on this return visit. The Mabul Water Bungalows (overwater) make a very nice place to stay. The staff is very friendly and can't do enough to make your stay pleasant.

Sipadan Mabul Resort
Sipadan and Mabul opened a whole new world for us Caribbean divers. Mabul has lots of the small stuff, I spent hours with my face in the coral. Fascinating! Beautiful nudibranches in bright colors, clams, lionfish, crocodile fish, octopus, anenome fish. On Sipadan, the wildlife was spectacular, especially the schools of thousands of barracudas and jacks. Lots of white tip sharks, leopard sharks and turtles.

Sipadan Mabul Resort
As a Stock Photographer specializing in underwater photography, I have traveled extensively to various parts of the world. This was the case with one of my best dive trips I ever booked through Deep Discoveries. The location was a small island off the coast of Borneo, Mabul Island also allowed us access to Sipadan Island. I managed to photograph everything on my list and the diving was an Underwater Photographers paradise.

Bunaken is beautiful and the dive crew at Santika was very attentive. We went to a small island every day for lunch and were served fresh fish and vegetables prepared by the local island women. The variety of food served at the daily breakfast and dinner buffet was good and our bungalow at Santika was very nice. The staff was very friendly.

Kungkungan Bay Resort
The diving was great and amazing for rare creatures. Our package included 3 day dives a day with different guides and most of them were great spotters. Very fast boats with up to 8 divers. Short travel time and warm water. Diving is mainly muck sites and dives were usually about 1 hr 10 mins. Accommodation is good, and food was often very good. The service at KBR is excellent.

We had a great time at Tasik Ria, and we really enjoyed diving at Bunaken. It's such a beautifully protected reef system! The additional time to get to the reefs from Tasik Ria was insignificant since the boats were very comfortable. Our bungalow and the staff were very nice.

Boat was large and spacious. Fish were fairly plentiful with a good variety… large yellow seahorse, several frogfish, blue ribbon eels, sea snake, and octopus. The crew was very good and spoilt us on the dive deck. They went out of their way to find the rarer creatures.

My trip to Tobago was FAN-TAAA-STIC!! I can't say enough about it! The Manta Lodge was great ... the dive masters were so much fun! I saw sooo much marine life and many coral reefs. They were by FAR my best dives yet! I saw moray eels, tons of lobsters, parrot fish, nurse sharks ( YEAHHH! ), sting rays, trumpet fish, gorgeous terrain of corals and the list goes on!

Our trip was amazing!! We saw and I filmed hundreds of hammerhead sharks on multiple dives. On one dive there must have been at least 1000 hammerheads; there were so many that I didn't know which way to point the video camera. There were also marble rays galore hovering in spacecraft formation in the current. We also snorkled with orcas, which is every diver's dream.

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. The countryside is stunning. One of the best parts of the trip was feeling so well taken care of. Everybody -- and every tour -- was on time and spectacular. The lodge at Jinetes was great. We had monkeys, parrots, toucans, snakes, frogs, toads, 3-toed sloths, and crocodiles literally on our doorstep. The staff at Deep Discoveries was equally up to the high standards set on our trip. From the selection of venues to the tours you helped to select, everything was truly amazing...we even saw the volcano at Arenal erupt on our first night there! In the next month or so we'll start planning our next big trip. We will definitely be using you again!

We were lucky enough to be able to swim with Whale Sharks, Hammerheads, Dolphins and I would say that we saw everything that we wanted and hoped that we would see. On the last day of diving I had the opportunity to do something that I had only dreamed of. We saw a pod of killer Whales in the distance and by quickly getting into one of the smaller boats we were able to drive right up alongside the Whales as they chased some Pilot Whales. I was even lucky enough to be able to get in the sea with them and see them from in the water.
